Audrey Sucks catches up with Parisian house don Jean-Jerome, whose latest remix for DJ TinTin‘s Madossa is available now on Glamour Punk.

Where are you from? Paris, France.

How did you get started in the electronic music scene? In 1992 I went to my first Rave Party and caught the bug!

Tell us about the 90s Paris club scene! How does it compare to today? In 90s there were Raves everywhere, there wasn’t a big club scene like nowadays. Most of them were illegal… Now everything is different, for the most part the people go to the Clubs or Festivals, pay a lot to get in and listen to garbage lol!

What was it like in the early days of Radio FG? Similar trajectory – it was originally a Techno/Rave radio, and became more House in 1995. I arrived there in 1996 (till 2013!) and the radio was not (at this time anyway!) a commercial station.

Who are your house music heroes? DJ Sneak, Daft Punk, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, Mousse T, Grant Nelson, Mood 2 Swing, Dj Pierre.

What inspires you when you are producing tracks? Everything around me…but if its for a remix, the original track of course!

Tell us about Game and House! It’s a project from a good friend, Christian for WUMM (House band!). He’s also behind My7House and much more… A real video genius! The initial project was to put several Djs and many arcade games at the same time to do a big jam between music and video games. For example this track was made in 1993 and so was this game… and after will show you both in action!

What gigs do you have planned for this summer? I’ve just done shows in Paris and Barcelona, in June & July. I’m taking a break for the August hols here in France and then next up will be in September…

Where is your favourite place to play in the world? Which place has the best crowds? Bangkok was great in the early 2000s, and Barcelona at the Majestic Hotel is awesome, I’ve been there 3 times in 3 years, magical rooftop vibes!

What tracks should we watch out for from you or from other producers? It depend on what kind of music you want! And You’ve said watch, maybe better to say listen, because music is music first lol! So of course – my latest remix for U guys!

Are you mostly Glamour or are you more Punk? Both, joker!

DJ TinTin – Madossa is available now via Beatport and other digital stores, including the superb Jean-Jerome Remix. Check him out also on Soundcloud.
